for ikols
Tommy frowned as he passed a bar, slowing down a bit. It was less about wanting to drink and more about not wanting to feel alone. His fingers brushed over the phone in his pocket. He could call Billy, but then he'd just get how together he and Teddy were shoved in his face. And Billy didn't even do it on purpose. He could call David, but he'd been busy lately or maybe avoiding Tommy, the speedster wasn't sure and he didn't want to deal with the rejection.
This was a New York City bar though, which meant they'd try to card him. What time was it in Germany? Or Mexico? Or Australia? Or anywhere but here?
He pulled out his phone. 4 PM... London would work and he was pretty sure he still had some money on him from his last visit.
In less than a minute, he was slowing down in front of one of the first pubs he came across. In the middle of the city, reasonably busy, it was early evening, and there seemed to be plenty of young people milling around.
They were also playing some pretty decent music and had darts. Perfect.
Goggles off. And now he looked like an almost normal young man.
"Hey. I'll take a Guinness," He requested and took his drink to find himself a spot.

[ Of all the pubs in all the world ... and there Loki stands by the bar, a pint in his hand, dressed in a hoodie and jeans like any young twenty-something. His quirked brow remains firmly on Tommy, astonishment faintly creasing a smile into place as he rakes him in a once-over, head to toe and back again. ]
Tommy Shepherd of New York?
no subject
Holy shit. Small world. [He'd stepped back but was still grinning away, obviously happy to see the God.]
no subject
Out for a night on the town?
[ Despite Loki's awkwardness during the embrace, he relaxes in Tommy's company and offers a smile back. ]
no subject
Yeah, basically. [He shrugged, still smiling.] What about you?
Oh. [His shoulders droop subtly and his smile falters as he looks around.] Are you, uh, here with someone, or... [Or could they continue to hang out for the night? Tommy was looking hopeful, but reserved, assuming Loki likely already had plans.]
no subject
Loki takes some initiative and touches the back of Tommy's elbow, intending to steer him to one of the nearby tables so they can talk away from the worst of the music. No chairs, which is good. He can keep an arm brushing against the other man this way, as if Tommy will hear him better should their proximity remain slim. ]
I wanted to escape New York for a night. The odds of running into you are so slim, it's a treat to see you again.
[ With some sincere warmth undercurrenting those words. ]
no subject
[And now that that was cleared up, he gave Loki a suave smile.] I'd still like your number though.
[He shuffles along beside Loki, happily following his lead since he really didn't have any preferences for where they hanged out.]
For real though. It's great running into you. Things have been so... [lame, boring, stale]- quiet lately. At least for me. I know Billy and Teddy are out doing whatever, but the rest of us didn't get an invite. [He's not bitter. Not at all.]
no subject
When those two are together they bore the pants off each other, which you would think was the point. [ Except he doubts Billy and Teddy have actually gotten past third-base, if that. ] At any rate, we don't need them to have fun.
[ The brow he arches could be entirely innocent, if he was anyone but himself. ]
I don't suppose you've got any suggestions? Perhaps ... asking me to dance?
no subject
[He dubiously eyed the small area cleared for dancing, having to look past Loki to do so. Something else caught his eye though. Past the little dance area, there were two pool tables. Only one was occupied.]
I've got a better idea. [He snagged Loki unceremoniously by the wrist to lightly tug him along, through the dance area without apology, and over to the pool table.] You're all about games, aren't you? [The question was accompanied with a mischievous smirk of his own as he went over to grab two pool cues, bumping Loki's shoulder with his own as he handed one over.] What'd'ya want to play for? We've got to have stakes.
no subject
Ah ...
[ Weighing the cue, the godling arches a brow at present company. ]
I win and I walk out of this door to bug your brother. You win and I stay.

[Tommy sighed, glancing very briefly over at the dance floor before stubbornly grabbing the pool balls and triangle to set up.]
That's possibly one of the lamest rewards I've ever heard. [Triangle gone, Tommy taps Loki on the leg with the pool cue playfully.] We need to think of something better.
How about... you win... we dance and then you can decide if you wanna be lame and leave. I win... [Tommy leaned forward over the pool table in front of Loki to line up his shot, jokingly suggestive.] We hang out some more. We could go to mine - more drinks and video games? [He breaks, sending the balls rolling around the table and sinking one of the striped ones.] Deal?
no subject
Or, [ as Loki hops up to sit on a corner of the pool table, he pulls the cue in his hands against his body and deadpans, ] we can skip this kerfuffle and head back to your place for sex.
I don't usually play head-games on my nights off.
no subject
I wasn't playing head-games. [He leans against the pool table, and subsequently against Loki's leg.] I was playing game-games.
[His stomach was in knots all of a sudden with excitement, or maybe that was anticipation.] Mine. Or yours. Either works. [He shrugs, trying really hard to make it look natural and nonchalant.]
no subject
Mine. You'll need to hold on while we teleport, though. Tight, preferably.
no subject
Catching wouldn't be an issue for Loki, Tommy was pressed flush against him almost before he had to ask. Since Loki had more than a few inches on him, he snaked his arms around Loki's waist and down into the back pockets of his pants.]
Good?
